| Rubber base paints are one of the most
popular types of coatings used for repainting swimming pools. This is due largely to the
tact that most swimming pools were originally painted with chlorinated rubber prior to the
development of epoxy coatings. Today, rubber base pool coatings still provide an
attractive, easy to apply finish. Listed below are two types of rubber base paint,
chlorinated and synthetic, that will provide an attractive, lasting pool finish.

Paralon
2 - Chlorinated Rubber
PARALON 2 is our standard grade chlorinated rubber pool enamel. This paint is recommended
for repainting existing chlorinated rubber coatings. It is an attractive, low sheen,
rubber base pool enamel with high water resistance. The soft pastel appearance will please
the most discriminating pool owner while providing economical protection for the pool
surface. Two coats of PARALON 2 are required for best results. On bare surfaces that are
unusually porous, a third coat may be necessary. PARALON 2 meets Federal Specification
TTP-95, Type I, and Class 3 for rubber base pool paints.
Coverage: 250-275 sq. ft. average per gallon.

Optilon
- Synthetic Rubber
OPTILON is an economical synthetic rubber base formula meeting all of the quality
performance expectations of chlorinated rubber base paint. OPTILON can be applied to bare
concrete or plaster as well as over old rubber base paint. OPTILON also has excellent
chemical resistance and color retention while yeilding 2-3 years average service. Two
coats of OPTILON are required for best results.
Coverage: 250-300 sq. ft. average per gallon.

PLEASE NOTE: Synthetic rubber base finishes may be
applied to chlorinated rubber and synthetic rubber. Chlorinated rubber may only be applied
over chlorinated rubber. |
