Nature2 Cartridge Start-Up
Instructions
Before Installing and starting up a new Nature2
Cartridge, clean debris and algae out of the pool and clean pool filter.
Important: Do not install the new cartridge until the pool water is
chemically balanced.
Balance pool water:
All swimming pools, including Nature2 pools, require properly balanced water.
- pH: 7.4 - 7.8
- Total Hardness: 200 - 400 ppm
- Total Alkalinity: 80 - 150 ppm
Consult your Nature2 for specific water
balance instructions.
- Install the Nature2 cartridge into the
purifier.
- Superoxidize ("shock") the pool:
On the first day, superoxidize water with 1 lb. dry or 1 gallon liquid chlorine per 10,000
gallons of water to burn off contaminants and to activate the cartridge.
Important: Initial superoxidation with chlorine is required.
- Activate the Nature2 cartridge:
- Run the pump and filter system 24 hours per day
for 4 days or
- Run the pump and filter system 6 hours per day for
14 days or
- Maintain a 1-2 ppm residual free chlorine
level throughout the 4 day or 14 day activation period.
- Let the free chlorine level drop to 0.4-0.6
ppm when the Cartridge Activation period is complete.
- Follow the Low Chlorine Maintenance Recipe
(see below).
- Enjoy your Nature2 purified pool!
Nature2 Low Chlorine
Maintenance Recipe
Ingredients:
Nature2 purifier
Chlorine
pH & Total Alkalinity adjusting chemicals
Total Hardness increaser, if needed
Water Test Kit
Cyanuric acid
Once the 4-day or 14-day Cartridge Activation Period
is completed, let the chlorine level drop to 0.4-0.6 ppm by reducing the amount of
chlorine you add then:
| WHEN: |
WHAT TO DO: |
| Every Day |
Run pump and filter at least 6 hours every
day. |
| Once a Week |
Balance pH and Total Alkalinity. |
| Twice a Week |
Check the free chlorine residual; add
chlorine to maintain a 0.4-0.6 free chlorine PPM range. |
| As Needed |
If the water starts to look hazy,
superoxidize ("shock") using 1lb. of chlorine granules or 1 gal. liquid chlorine
or 1 lb. non-chlorine oxidizer per 10,000 gallons of water. Add cyanuric acid to maintain
50 ppm. After heavy use or rainstorms, superoxidization is recommended.
|
Seek to reduce your chlorine level by 50% to 80%
versus the chlorine levels you would maintain without Nature2. |
